Jennifer Board is a Rosarian and the head gardener of San Francisco's wildly visited Lombard Street. Born into a family of beach-going gardeners, her sensibilities and perspective have been shaped by barefoot summers along the lush California coast, an incessant love for garden life and style, and an affinity for detail. Jennifer studied horticulture in San Luis Obispo, floral design in New York City, holding a degree in business. She has served on the Board of San Francisco's Historical Rose Society, and has partnered with National Park Services and Golden Gate National Recreation tending old, historic roses. Jennifer has been honored for her preservation and beautification of public space, receiving a Certificate of Honor Award from the city of San Francisco in 2016, and the Golden Gate Award from San Francisco Beautiful in 2017. Jennifer lives with her daughter and husband in Marin County.
